DSL here.....Has anyone had DSL, and then had cable or T1, and is there much difference. I dont see how its possible to get much faster than DSL. Every page pops up almost instantly for me, and as far as downloading songs, software, etc, its lightning fast.

If you gamble online you probably spend a great deal of your time at the computer. I don't see how anyone who spends that much time online would not splurge for DSL or Cable. You can live without it... but for the all time we spend online why would you?

btw DSL and Cable can be faster/slower depending on which service/area you live. The only difference is DSL has a dedicated BandWidth and Cable doesn't. This means alot of times Cable can be faster but at peak times it can be slower. Then again, it all depends on what company/area you live.

DSL is what I have. It's pretty fast but I've noticed Cable seems to be faster. For looking at websites it doesn't make a difference.

bigdOgg - for just viewing simple websites DSL is all you need, but if you want to download music etc while you surf you need the speed of cable. Cable does slow down if everyone in your neighborhood is on at the same time like at 6 pm but when their not it can speed-up to be faster than a T-1 in some areas.

Fast Internet connections like DSL and Cable will come way down in price this year as pricing wars are just starting to heat-up and AOL will spark it further while they try to keep AOL subscribers from leaving AOL for faster and cheaper connections from the competition.

If you want to know whether you have a fast enough connection...just beat a few joints on their line moves...THEY will inform you that you're fast enough.

Looks like most of the Rx posters polled are on cable/T1 ?

I wish they had cable on this island LOL
